My computer is WinXP. It worked fine with Internet. I have updated the WinXP. The updated software asked me to update IE to 7.0 I select Yes. The computer had been restarted after updating.
However after reboot. I clicked on IE icon. IE tried to connect to Internet and CPU get 100% and iexplore exe process also get 100%. Accordingly. I could not get in Internet. How do I fix this problem.
The easy fix would be to remove IE7.
Go to Add/Remove Program in the Control Panel to uninstall IE7. Doing so will restore IE6 in the same condition you last used it. You will need to restart the PC as dictated by the uninstaller.
IE7 is problematic only to a very small percent of the hundreds of million of users. There must be something in your machine that cause conflicts.
Nothing wrong with IE 7. I have been using it since it was first released without any problems.
Are all your security updates up to date? Have you scanned for viruses or other malware. IE 7 closed a lot of security loopholes. If you have something on your computer that is exploiting one of those loopholes that has now been closed then that could be the problem.
Sorry. Stuart.."... Nothing wrong with IE 7. I have been using it since it was first released without any problems...." as an argument just does does not cut it -- way too categorical and at best; anecdotal.
However the rest of your reply implies that a previously-undetected 'security weakness' might be at the heart of this IE7 problem -- mow THAT would be something very valuable for you to reinforce now! That bears some repeatng/detailing. You do the honors.
So whats your point. Got nothing better to do on a Saturday/Sunday morning except argue about trivialities.
